About Dr. Treglia

Dan Treglia, PhD, MPP, is an Instructor at the Rutgers Center for State Health Policy. Dr. Treglia also serves as an Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. He is experienced in social and health policy and focuses much of his work on the intersection of housing, homelessness, and health policy. Dr. Treglia is also leading the evaluation of the housing component of New Jersey’s Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver. His portfolio includes work on a National Institutes of Health funded study (R01MD015261) examining the contribution of homelessness to racial/ethnic and geographic disparities in health services outcomes and how permanent supportive housing can mitigate those disparities. His work also involves public service, including work with the City of New York and other communities across the country focused on assessing the extent of unsheltered homelessness. Before joining the Center in 2023, Dr. Treglia was an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice.
