This is a program evaluation for Safe Kids New Jersey, now part of the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium. Safe Kids Worldwide is a global network of organizations and the National Safe Kids Campaign uses local grassroots coalitions to reduce unintentional childhood injuries. Safe Kids New Jersey has implemented a new pilot program called “Home Safe Home” which will train home visitor volunteer staff to educate 60 high-risk families with toddlers about ways to reduce unintentional injuries in the home and provide free home safety devices as needed. CSHP has been asked to evaluate the effectiveness of the home visit intervention and to evaluate the training given to the home visitor staff.
