Elucidating Opportunities for Improving the Field Triage and Quality of Hospital Care for Injured Older Adults

This project is leading the preparation and preliminary analysis of a research database consisting of linked prehospital, hospital, and mortality records for the state of New Jersey for the years 2009–2010. Data preparation includes identification of unique trauma episodes and the creation of analytic variables to support analysis of triage and transport strategies for older trauma patients. Preliminary analysis includes tabulation of descriptive statistics and development of econometric modeling strategies. This work supports the development of a proposal for extramural research funding and preliminary analysis for manuscript development.
