Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ: Impact Analysis Issue Brief

CSHP will produce an Issue Brief for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey that highlights Horizon's impact on New Jersey's health insurance markets, health care expenditures, and employment. The format of this Issue Brief would be similar to that of a previous Issue Brief prepared by the Center for Horizon titled Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey: Current and Historical Role in Providing Health Insurance Coverage in New Jersey, February 2003. The current Issue Brief would include and update much of the information that is presented in the 2003 Issue Brief, but would go beyond that work by also highlighting Horizon's contribution to New Jersey's economy through expenditures on health care and employment. Throughout the Issue Brief, CSHP will draw upon government and other data to put the role of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield in the context of the entire state health care system and economy.
