Rutgers Center for State Health Policy is providing the NJ Department of Health & Senior Services with technical assistance and policy analysis to develop an implementation plan for the pharmacy benefit that was created through the Medicare Prescriptions Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. The project will coordinate the new Medicare benefit with the state's existing PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance for the Aged & Disabled) and Senior Gold programs. Some of the key project activities include a detailed analysis of laws and regulations and the development of educational materials and a monitoring and evaluation plan for the transition.
