The Impact of Choice Project

Rutgers Center for State Health Policy is conducting a study, funded by a grant from Johnson & Johnson, for the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services in order to assist them to better serve the needs of people who have returned to the community from nursing homes through the Community Choice Program. CSHP staff are conducting interviews exploring how easy or difficult it was to leave the nursing facility and come back to a home in the community. Clients are asked about their quality of life both now and during the transition, what services they needed, and whether they received needed services. The purpose of this study is to improve the Community Choice program and assist the Department of Health and Senior Services in identifying and helping to meet participants' needs for the community services that help support the program.
